Pizza is a classic dish that tastes even better when its homemade! With just a few simple ingredients, store bought dough and some elbow grease - you'll be enjoying this pizza and your favourite beverage (ours is wine, of course), in no time!
That's Amore :)
We love pizza and once a month or so we make our own homemade pizza on a weekend. This is great fresh, and even better to make ahead and freeze for a quick weekday meal. Now, we are certainly not pizza experts but it turns out just fine and equally delicious. It also gives us some time to cook together as a couple (which is rare) but in addition, to start showing our daughter how to cook as well (soon enough she will be cooking along with us :)
For myself, I can't tolerate mozarella cheese - so we do half and half, one side with goat cheese and the other with mozarella. That way I don't have to pick off the cheese as I do when we have a regular pizza.

You can totally make your own dough or use different ingredients. We often will make two pizza's one veggie and one with meat (salami or chicken) and/or pesto option for veggie pizza.
Check out the simple recipe for this delish homemade veggie pizza below:
Ingredients:
Pizza dough (homemade or store bought)
Marinara sauce
olive oil
Flour
Tomatoes 1-2
sundried tomatoes
spinach (fresh)
zucchini - 2 small or 1 large
sliced kalamata olives
feta or goat cheese
mozarella cheese - shredded
red onion, sliced
optional: pesto, onions, salami or chicken
Directions:
Allow your dough to rise - either in fridge or at room temperature covered.
Using a clean surface and flour, flour your surface and rolling pin. Roll out your dough and allow for a slight indentation around the edge of the pizza for the crust.
Begin by brushing the crust with olive oil, then add your sauce, and remaining chopped ingredients as well as cheese.
We baked ours at 425 for 15-20 minutes for a large pizza. Oven temperatures and cook times vary.
Enjoy!
