Tomato, Spinach, Basil & Salami Pita Pizza

Who doesn’t love pizza? Especially when you can add your own toppings to it!

These pizzas are so simple to make and with just a few ingredients and some pita bread – you can enjoy rustic-styled homemade mini-pizza’s in minutes! We use a mix of marinara sauce and our homemade sauce + veggies + some greens and salami – Genoa or Prosciutto – you can take out the meat or add another meat preference to your pizza’s.

We buy our ingredients and pita bread from WalmartZeus Whole Wheat Flat Greek Pita Bread . For a pack of five it costs just under $3.00 - such an afforadable price! Sometimes we will buy an extra pack and pop that in the freezer for a later date. Just take out in the morning and throw your toppings on for dinner that evening.

These are great for a VERY QUICK weeknight meal, date night at home and especially great for Valentine’s Day - Throw in a glass of wine and you are set!

Tomato, Spinach, Basil & Salami Pita Pizza Recipe

Ingredients:

A pack of pita bread

Marinara sauce + homemade sauce (amount is whatever you would like – we mix about half a jar of marinara with a few tablespoons of our homemade sauce)

Grape Tomatoes

Spinach and/or fresh basil leaves

Oregano + ground pepper (sprinkle on top)

Genoa OR Prosciutto slices – about one per pizza

Directions:

1. Pour yourselves a glass of wine (optional)

2. Preheat the oven to 375. Spray your baking sheet with cooking spray.

3. Lay out your pitta’s on your pan. Start with the sauce and add your other toppings. Top with some oregano and pepper. We usually add the fresh basil after the pizza is cooked.

4. Cook for 8-9 minutes.

Enjoy!

*MEAL PREP TIP*

Buy another pack and make some extra for the next day. We often will make some extra for lunch the next day = great multi meal prep option, delicious, simple and quick to make.

Happy Valentine’s Day and/or Pizza Night!
